The Entry Certificate in Business Analysis™ (ECBA®) is the first level of a 3-level exam-based core professional certification structure in business analysis, offered by IIBA®.
ECBA™ covers the foundational knowledge on business analysis according to the BABOK® Guide and showcases that you have the core knowledge and competencies for the in–demand field of business analysis. Stand out from the crowd – highlight you have the knowledge and be certified by the leading authority in business analysis, IIBA®.
The ECBA™ preparation workshop assists the candidates in clearing the exam in their first attempt. The workshop covers concepts of business analysis as per standards, emphasizing on the 6 Knowledge Areas, 50 BA Techniques and 29 Competencies defined in BABOK® Guide Version 3.
The certification is offered for junior business analysts or individuals looking to enter into the profession of business analysis. The credential will,
- Provide a competitive advantage as a qualified analyst even before starting your career and during the initial stages of your career
- Help soar ahead in a career as a competent analyst with validation of a solid foundation on knowledge, techniques, and competencies as defined in the BABOK Guide®.

- Undergraduates following a technology (Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Systems, Business Information Systems, etc.) or Management (Business Management, Marketing, Finance, HR, Supply Chain Management or any other Management subject) related degree program who are interested in a career as an Analyst
- Fresh graduates from any technical or management background
- Junior Analysts (IT Business Analysts, Project Managers / Coordinators, Product Managers, Risk Analysts, HR Analysts, Marketers, Process Consultants, etc.) with less than 3 years (or 3750 hours) of experience or individuals with no prior BA experience.

The Entry Certificate in Business Analysis™ (ECBA®) exam is closely aligned to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK® Guide), consists of 50 multiple choice, knowledge-based questions, and must be completed within 60 minutes.

- Elicitation and collaboration – 20%

- Requirements analysis and design definition – 25%.
- Business Analysis knowledge – 30%:
- Business analysis and the BA professional – 2.5%
- Business analysis key concepts – 5%
- Underlying competences – 5%
- Techniques – 17.5%
