Workshop Description

Develop enterprise coaching capabilities that enable business agility. Improve business processes by understanding organization structure and design.

The enterprise coach has a holistic view of an organization and works across boundaries to accelerate the business agility journey. They are uniquely positioned to partner with organizational leadership to co-create meaningful and sustained change. 

This ICAgile Certified Enterprise Agile Coaching workshop will help you to gain a deep understanding of agility at the enterprise level by learning the Leadership, Cultural, Organizational structural and process perspectives.

Audience

This certification was designed for agile coaches at the enterprise and portfolio level, transformational leaders who want to increase their coaching mindset, or anyone aspiring to these roles. It is also relevant for professionals with a strong background in change management and/or organizational design who have a curiosity about agile approaches at the enterprise level.

Workshop Content

  • Lesson 1: Enterprise & Business Agility
  • 1.1 Business Agility is the Goal
    • Describe business agility and provide examples of how it extends to the whole organization.
    • Compare and contrast systems thinking and complexity theory including when and why you would use each in an enterprise coaching engagement.
  • 1.2 Enterprise Coaching Enables Business Agility
    • Define Enterprise Agile Coaching including the context in which they work, scope, impact and skills needed.
    • Discuss the ethical considerations of enterprise agile coaching, and how to navigate these considerations in their organizational context.
    • Apply a business agility model to a case study or real world scenario case study covering the whole enterprise (must go beyond IT)
  • Lesson 2: Understanding the Organization
  • 2.1 Organization Design and Structure
    • Explain why organization systems entry is a starting point for Enterprise Agile Coaching.
    • Explain organizational culture and various organizational structure
    • Explain various scaling models for use in agile and digital transformation.
    • Identify ways to coach the different patterns of behavior related to organizational structure.
    • Create a systems entry plan for a case study or real-world scenario showing an awareness of the organizational culture, design, goals and objectives.
  • 2.2 Business Process and Improvement
    • Discuss the coaching needed for an organization to shift from traditional business processes to adaptive business processes.
    • Identify ways to coach the organization on adaptive measures of business performance that flow through multiple organizational levels
    • Analyze a current business process and make recommendations on ways to evolve it into a more adaptive business process
  • Lesson 3: Coaching Across the Organization
  • 3.1 Coaching the Organization
    • Discuss the correlation and potential synergy between systems coaching and Enterprise Agile Coaching.
    • Compare and contrast the impact of consulting versus professional coaching in case studies or real-world scenarios.
    • Explore ways to coach the organization in their consideration of scaling including comparing and contrasting at least two scaling models.
    • Practice both professional coaching and consulting conversations.
  • 3.2 Facilitating the Organization
    • Discuss the boundaries that exist within an organization for Boundary Spanning Facilitation Considerations
    • Recommend a boundary spanning facilitation technique in a simulation or real-world situation that involves spanning boundaries.
    • Create a facilitator guide for a boundary-spanning session identifying the desired purpose, outcomes, participants, and flow.

Prerequisites

Foundational knowledge of agile principles, values, and mindset.  Agile coaching experience is recommended.
