Certified Business Analysis Professional ™ (CBAP®) is highest level of a 3-level exam-based core professional certification structure in business analysis offered by IIBA®. The certification is offered for individuals with an extensive level of business analysis experience. CBAP® is the most prestigious certification in the market for practicing business analysis professionals.

The certification is offered for senior business analysts / senior managers playing a lead role in a Business Analysis Center of Excellence (BA CoE) looking for recognition in the profession of business analysis. The credential will,

Learning Outcome

Have an understanding of the scope of the CBAP® credential
Have obtained the 35 PDU hours to be eligible to apply for the CBAP® exam
Obtain the required knowledge, skills and an understanding of the key concepts of Business Analysis
Gain theoretical and practical knowledge of the 6 knowledge areas, and 50 key techniques of Business Analysis available to perform day-to-day analysis activities
Gain a clear understanding of 29 underlying competencies of a business analyst
Have a practical understanding about the 5 business analysis perspectives
Be able to set up the BA practice in an organization and manage, coach, lead and evaluate junior BAs as per the established practices
Be able to pass the exam on the 1st attempt with the right coaching provided by our expert trainer.

Certification Prerequisites

Professionals looking to apply for the CBAP® certification must satisfy the following criteria:

Complete a minimum of 7500 hours of Business Analysis work experience within the last 10 years
Within this experience, complete a minimum of 900 hours of experience in at least 4 of the 6 BA knowledge areas as defined in the BABOK® Guide
Complete a minimum of 35 contact hours of Professional Development in the last 4 years (You obtain this by attending the course)
A High School Diploma / Degree
Two references (CBAP® certified professionals, work managers)
Agree to the Code of Conduct and to the Terms & Conditions.

Exam Blueprint

Certification of Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP®) consists of 120 multiple choice scenario-based and case-study based questions and must be completed within 3.5 hours. Certification exam covers the following areas:

Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring – 14%
Elicitation and Collaboration – 12%
Requirements Life Cycle Management – 15%
Strategy Analysis – 15%
Requirements Analysis and Design Definition – 30%
Solution Evaluation – 14%.
