Peoplecert has recently announced the launch of the new ITIL® 4 certification scheme in Q2 and Q3 of 2023. The new modules include ITIL® Overview, two ITIL® Extension Modules: ITIL® Specialist Business Relationship Management and IT Asset Management, ITIL® Practice Manager, and ITIL® 4 Master designations. All new modules are highlighted in red.
*To be awarded the Practice manager designation, a candidate must achieve ITIL® MP CDS certificate and Any five practice-based certifications, either individually or as ONE of the three pre-bundled courses. These may include the ITAM and BRM extension modules or any practices from the Practice manager track.
**ITIL® 4 Master will be awarded to candidates who achieve the Practice Manager (PM), Managing Professional (MP), and Strategic Leader (SL) designations.
ITIL® 4 Overview
ITIL® 4 Overview is a new module that will provide an easy entrance to the world of Service Management based on ITIL® 4. This module is intended for senior management and pre-foundation employees, it is the first ITIL® module that does not require examination.
ITIL® Practice Manager
ITIL® Practice Manager is for any professional who wants to prove and validate their skills in the specific practice area. The combined practice workshops are for professionals aiming to establish a good cross-practice collaboration and effective service value streams. Learners can choose to go for 1 day training per individual practice or for 3 days per combined (5) practice workshops. “Monitor, Support & Fulfill” is already available, and other two combined practice workshops will be available in Q3 2023.
So, how do you achieve ITIL® 4 Practice Manager designation?
The first thing you will need to do is to pass ITIL® 4 Foundation certification, then you will need to pass ITIL®4 Create, Deliver and Support certification, because that is also a prerequisite and then you will need to pass any Five ITIL® practice certifications shown below.
Obviously, if you already have ITIL® 4 Managing Professional or ITIL® 4 Create, Deliver and Support certificate, you will only need to pass Any five practice-based certifications, either individually or as ONE of the three pre-bundled courses. These may include the ITAM and BRM extension modules or any practices from the Practice manager track.
ITIL® 4 Master
ITIL® 4 Master is the highest designation in the ITIL® world. There is no additional exam for ITIL® 4 Master. ITIL® 4 Master will be awarded to candidates who achieve the Practice Manager (PM), Managing Professional (MP), and Strategic Leader (SL) designations.

A management practice is defined as a set of organisational resources designed for performing work or accomplishing an objective.
There are 34 ITIL® management practices in total, representing some of the most practical resources of the framework. We start with the management practices covered in the ITIL® 4 Foundation, based on the practice guides. The practices are also enriched with additional guidance on the capability model based on the ITIL® 4 maturity model.
The individual practice course is intended for professionals that want to prove and validate their skills in specific practice areas.
